"There are two pieces of information that must be known to describe any group of data. One is variation [Range]. . . The other is the average, which describes the arithmetic center of the data points. . . "
Clements, Statistical Methods in Manufacturing
SUMMARY
The purpose of this program is to provide practical instruction on fundamental statistical tools used in modern process control methods. Techniques used to design, implement and interpret control charts and process capability studies will be explored and developed using practical shop data. Workshop problems will be used to practice the techniques developed and case studies for different industries will be reviewed.
The instructor guides you through every critical area including how to design and maintain a statistical process control program, how to apply simple-to-use statistical methods to analyze process variation, how to install and use control charts, and how to apply sampling inspection methods.
PLEASE NOTE: No prior background in basic statistics is required.
