Simply knowing how a system works is like peeling off the first layer of an onionskin. What do we do with the information?
We use Process Mapping as an analytical tool to identify and eliminate redundancies and excessive use of resources, as well as to strengthen those parts of a system that already work well.
SUMMARY
Process Mapping/Process Improvement is a powerful way of utilizing graphical and logical techniques to understanding how a product is produced. The simple act of laying out a series of actions in a logical, visual manner enables one to grasp how all the parts of a system interact with each other.
This is important, because in those interactions we find duplications of effort, backtracking and inefficiencies.
APPROACH
When one is involved with a unique portion of a system, it's hard to grasp the whole picture. Problems solved and improvements made are usually local in nature. But, as we work with you and your people, we all gain a different perspective of the system.
We want to change your point of view from what the activities and actions ARE to what they ACCOMPLISH. Then, we bring recognized problem-solving procedures into play which enable people to see the whole picture as well as the details in a new way. The new point of view plus effective problem solving helps create and implement effective alternatives for improving the process.
